what's the market position of Allroad? now Q7 is released and people assume there will be a smaller version of Q7, say, Q5. if there's really a Q5, so where can Allroad go? it is more expensive than a A6 Avant, able to cross country, but have a lower body. will Q5 be a Allroad+5"?

Allroad is an Avant with limited off road abilities and it slots between Q5 and Q7. It covers a niche part of the market , the target group are those who want some off road abilities but also want the good handling and lower consumpion of a regular car .

Whilst certain informed individuals on this forum (like Osnabrueck) appreciate the logic behind multi-road station wagons such as the allroad and Subaru Outback, most consumers in the SUV market will simply turn toward the fashionable and status proclaiming heavyweights of the moment.

So yes, Audi, we see the engineering logic behind the allroad (it'll be no less capable than the Q7 offroad) but what's the business logic?

Audi gives you this pack called Allroad.
it's like the RS6, the RS"packet" is stil an 6' but it extreme sporty!
Allroad styling on the 6 is an offroad pack!

Someone want their A6 with Allroad ability, other buy's either A6 S-line or S/RS.
