Well today i was at the audi S tour in gothenburg sweden..
I got to drive the RS4 for a while..and then the S8..
Below are my impressions.. (sorry no pictures it was raining like hell in gothenburg today)

RS4: Well i got there around 16:00 and talked to this nice lady who gave me the keys right away to a silver RS4 avant..
Being that the car is silver and avant it wasent mindblowing to me from the outside..but certainly impressive..
But when i sat in the car things started to happen.. the cars seats are extreme..they hugged the air out of me.. very impressive..the steering is also a thing that was to my liking.. i love the mocca and the feel of it
So i started the monster..and right away you felt that this car is no joke..that exhaust note is freakin crazy..it sounds like a muscle car..Lol

Beacuse of the weather i couldnt push it to the limit..but i gave it a good run..
So here are some impressions on how the car drives:

Pros:
The car is extremely quick on all gears..it has loads of grunt

Its freakin rock solid in build quality

The quattro system is superb..the car does not seem to loose grip at any moment..it feels very secure..

Cons:
The car is nowhere near as direct in its steering as the M3

You are able to drive it slow and enjoy it ( that is actually a pro) but in a car like this i would like it if they went all out made it nutts..like the M3

The quattro system while its gr8 and gives you a feeling of security..it limits the fun somehow.. i couldnt get it to loose grip with esp turned off and it was raining.. ( well i did get it to lose grip..but not in that exteme fun way, it was more of a controlled grip loss)
This says alot about the greatness of the quattro system..and on the other hand it says alot about the fun factor of the RS4..

Verdict:
All in all the car gets 4/5 from me..its extremely fast..actually to fast.. and its exellent built, on the other hand the fun factor is far from the old M3 and it feels more like a grunty all rounder than a razor sharp machine like the M3.
If i where in the position of getting a car like this..given the high price of the RS4 i would wait until the M3 comes.

S8:
After my 40min drive of the RS4 the lady handed me the keys to the S8
Now this is my type of car.. it was so wide, so large and so comfy..
man it made me miss my S class so bad..haha
Anyways it had the B&O sound system wich did NOT impress me for that price, maybe the settings where wrong but it felt like the sound didnt have any depth..
As i started the car i stood still and listned to the stereo,when i was about to leave i couldnt tell if the car was on..it was extremely silent..


Pros:
extremely elegant car..exellent interior in fit and finish..allthough the design of the interior seems abit old now.. (but thats understandable)

The car gain speed so effortlessly its almost crazy

Endless power through all gears its just no stoping this car

Cons:
Maybe to silent for a V10

Other than that there is nothing to complain about

Verdict:
4.5/5
Amazing limosine i love it..and if it wasent for the allmighty S class this would be my first choice..and belive me that is not a bad thing

All in all this test drive of audi´s finest did not make me want a RS4 over a M3 or a S8 over a S63 AMG.
But it did make me realise something that i sort of allready knew..
and that is:
AUDI IS NO JOKE.. ppl who still belive that they dont make MB and BMW worried does not have a damn clue.
So for anyone that can justify the steep prices of the cars, and still feel that they are better than the competition- i say GO FOR IT..
cause both cars are magnificent and more or less better than 98% of the cars on normal roads today

No but i had talked about the S tour a long time ago with a dealer that i know, so they hooked me up through that

Why didnt you go and drive em? i dont think they care to much about that invitation..

you know my intention is really not to bash audi..cause i love these cars to death..but the only car that ive driven before that can compare to the RS4 is the M3 so i had to have it as a refrence point..

The guy I know who own a brand new RS4, we did some offroad driving, the RS4 works well both offroad and onroad, I kid you not

Well this weekend the S-tour were in Gothenburg and uppsala. Last week I spoke with a dude who lives in uppsala and his audi dealer told him that there weren't going to be any test drives. So I called up my dealer and was told that the s-tour was only for people who had received an invitation and those were probably the ones who had bought a car from the dealer or had one on order.
Since I was determined to drive the RS4 I paid a visit to the dealer and was there 15 minutes after they had opened on saturday.
When i arrived at the dealer all the s-tour cars were indoor and I asked the lady at the reception what's up and she told me that the test drives were going to take place on monday.
I say okey, and told her that I want to book a time. Dissapointingly I was told the same thing I was told over the phone, test drives were only for people who had received and invitation. I countered that statement and told her when the S-tour were in Kungälv, anyone could pop by the dealer and drive any of the s-tour cars without having received an invitation. The answer I got was that every dealer makes their own rules regarding the s-tour.

nice little review by the way. It is always great when people refer to competitors and other cars when they write a report.

wow that sucks extremely man...
when i booked over the phone she didnt ask me anything, and then at the dealership she asked if i had an invitation,and i said yeah,,haha and then i mentioned the name of the audi dealer, she took my licence copied it and gave me the keys..
im sorry they treated you poorly.. ( hate swedish dealers)

I was wondering if you liked the S8 more than the RS 4, because like you, I like the bigger cars and I think I would take the S8 personaly.
