One of the things that has been most amazing to me is the stability in the corners. You've all read a couple of my reports about that, so this isn't news to anyone.

On Wednesday, returning from an afternoon of golf with some friends, I had the opportunity to show three of them what we've been raving about.

One of my friends (OK, he's a lawyer - bit of a dick - short man syndrome, and more of an aquaintance than a friend) has a 2003 Jag XJ8, another buddy has a BMW 325 and the third has an older Olds Aurora.

The lawyer has been telling everyone that would listen that he thinks his Jag is as fast as the RS 4 (sure it is...). He was in the lead entering a long passing zone that culminates in a left hand sweeper that's marked as 45 MPH. I was behind him followed by the 3er, followed by the Olds. When we hit the passing zone, I downshifted to third and walked right by the Jag. The 3er couldn't make the pass, and well, the Olds just kind of rolled over and played dead.

I tracked through the turn at just less than 90 without the slightest hint of instability - no touch of the brakes.

When we got back to the restaurant we were headed too, My buddy in the Olds said "I kept waiting to see the brake lights, but they never came on."

The guy in the 3er said that "all he heard was a deeper growl and you were gone."

The lawyer said "You passed me before I was ready, I still think I can take that car."

The owner of the 3er just started laughing and told him to "go read R&T or C&D if he didn't already have enough proof."

I think I'm having too much fun with this car!
