![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Driven by yours truly -'07 B7 A4 2.0T S-line/Titanium package Multitronic After being let down by the 335 (which I didn't drive because it was sold, but even still it's looks most certaintly will not be able to hold me in) I peered over at Audi to see if there were any A4 2.0T's with the S-line package, which, as it is, is probably one of the best appearence packages available on any car by any brand. You get a plethora of upgrades over the standard car so you dont' feel cheated in feeling like a poseur: red/silver stitching on a three spoke leather trimmed steering wheel with shift paddles, upgraded sports suspension with '18 wheels and tires, aluminum trim, "S-line" badging on the door sills, grill, and steering wheel, and lastly a subtle but very sexy aero kit that includes front and rear S-line designed bumpers. All sounds very exciting, and I was excited waiting to see what this package would not only look like up close, but also how it would feel, since Audi is so well known for producing some of the highest quality cars in the industry. I got more than I could have asked for when what I thought would be just an S-line pack equipped A4 turned out to be an S-line/Titanium pack A4. Beautiful Titanium colored, multi spoked, race design inspired wheels, black trim on window sills, grill, black interior head liner, and to top it all off (the ladies are gonna love this) black piano trim. Could Audi have turned up the heat on the sexy any more than this!?!?!?! Not to mention all of this looks extremely classy too. Enough with the fantisizing, just looking at this car overwhelms one with so much emotion. "Well, it's just FWD, so it can't possibly be that good???" Wrong, the A4 2.0T Multitronic follows Audi's philosiphy of highest grade German engineering in combining a smooth, lag free turbocharged motor with a transmission that shifts impreceptably and sportily all at the same time, all the while provding plenty of fun for the driver. All of this in a FWD car, which I thought to myself couldn't be possible; never once did the wheels fight with the asphalt for traction when accelerating, just put your foot down and the car follows your foots command with a linear power delivery uniterupted by the turbo charger. It does indeed get better, while not incredibly feelsome, the steering tracks with such linearity, you're never puzzled about where the car is, and it weights up nicely and securely in corners. Making a fast and sharp U-turn, you can hear the front wheels spin, but never once do you feel as if the car is fighting for life because the steering is so well placed, and power so evenly distributed. What really excited me about this car the most, is how well packaged it is. All these features you think would add up to and ungoldy asking price, try $37,900. Not all that eye watering is it??? Audi has proven here that a premium FWD car can be fun to drive, so as long as it's equipped with intuitive engineering, and with the right packaging, can also be massively appealing to the small-premium car shopper. Right now there's a lot of confusion as to what Audi has over BMW in this market segment, well now I can tell you that's value and intuition. Now all we have to do is find a way to make that into an appealing ad campaign/company slogan. Vorsprung dirch Technik anyone??? Last edited by Deutsch; 09-02-2006 at 04:33 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Driven by yours truly -'07 B7 A4 2.0T S-line/Titanium package Multitronic Well look, I'm a conspicuous consumer who loves to drive a hard bargin. I'm in the market for a new car with a 6-12 month horizon. What's got me frustrated is cars like the new 3er coupe or Honda Civic are runaway hits and live in a sellers' market. The only way I'm going to stomach a new (or even CPO) car when I can find the perfect balance of raw appeal and soft sales, giving way to good value. Lucky me, Audi sales aren't on fire in Southern California. If all goes to plan, TT sales will be nice n' soft by Summer '07, and I can wrangle myself into one at a price that won't make me hold my nose. It's not just the TT I'm looking at. The A3 is also on my radar, and... come think - just about every other Audi in the range. Heck, you can even get A8s at $5k under invoice. |

![]() | Re: Driven by yours truly -'07 B7 A4 2.0T S-line/Titanium package Multitronic Yeah, LOL. Then an Audi'd be the perfect smart buy for someone who's a car enthusiast but not a badge/fashion slave. Or so it would seem. |
