My friend rides sport bikes (he rides a Honda 954RR), and he says Hayabusas and things like these are just sport bikes for fat people. I tend to agree that these things are better highway cruisers and better suited for light touring than sport riding as lighter and peakier bikes are. If I had my pick of any bike to ride (not that I would) from a performance standpoint, I'd probably pick up a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 even if I like how the Yamaha YZF-R1 looks a lot better.

My cousin drag races motorcycles in his spare time (real job he owns a big tire shop). His streetbike he's had for a long time is a ZX-12R.
