Yeah, but only for small displacement engines, in general - or, more accurately, I think it works best with inline engines. I have heard that the necessary plumbing would be a nightmare with the exhaust ports on both sides of a V-config engine.

I think that turbocharging of some form is inevitable, given VAG's success in the past. Not to mention that BMW's just hopped (back) on to the bandwagon, whatever that's worth.
