I don't know if they will return to high performance turbocharged engines soon. The upcoming S3 may be one of the few. In the RS2, the engine was built with help from Porsche (who also know a thing or two about turbos), and then the RS4 and RS6 biturbo engines were made with help from Cosworth. I think the fact that Mahle acquired and integrated Cosworth from Audi could be one of the reasons they've switched to more N/A type engines for higher performance models. We'll see how this pans out, because I was one of the Audi fans disappointed by their moving away from turbos.
