M vs. AMG comparisoin is a little pointless if you ask me, because this is just BMW's way of doing things in general. Instead of joining the hybrid bandwagon they jumped over it and grabbed a few ideas in the process on better utilizing energy and conserving fuel at the same time. And THAT, in the end, is what it's all about.
