The next generation A4 will get a more compact styling, and while most new cars grow in size, the new A4‘s overall length is rumoured to decrease by between 10 and 15 centimeters. It is set to rival the BMW 3-series, which by then will be on the market since 2005, and the upcoming Mercedes C-Class, which will also debut in 2007.

The new A4 will again get power from 4 cyl. fuel engines and various TDI Diesels between 120 and 245 HP. The most powerful versions of the fuel engines are going to deliver between 250 and 500 HP in the top of the line model.

With this, Audi will be well equipped to take a chance against the powerful competitors.

The photos are showing a computer rendering and a prototype mule during cold weather testing in Scandinavia. The test car is apparently a sporty sedan featuring four exhaust pipes similar to the BMW M3.

After reading those information i got worried and called Martin on the phone (yup Winterkorn) and he told that the informations are completely wrong.
The new A4 will grow significantly in size. The length will be around 4.70 m and the wheelbase 2.85 m (just like the roadjet concept which is based on the B8 platform).
Audi wants to offer more interior space and trunk volume than it's German rivals (as already has done with A6 and A8) , and A4 will follow the same philosophy.
Also Martin told me that the PS of the A4 is very acurate but the small details will make it look less like an Acura and more elegant.
Finally he told me to say to the other members here to stay tuned in this forum for more details about future Audi models as he will be in touch with me from now on.
Cheers.
