BMW 5er Facelifted Review

Performance:
The 3-litre twin-turbo - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER has plenty of low-down verve and some pretty serious mid-range grunt too.

Engine & Transmission:
Powerplant is refined for a diesel; automatic gearbox is smooth and quick to respond

Ride & Handling:
The - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER is a large car, but both the 535d and the M5 can tackle corners with aplomb yet can cosset its occupants too.

Fuel Economy:
Extremely frugal for a large estate with such performance.

Tactility:
Build and material quality are high.

Appearance:
Modern 5 Series design has aged gracefully and benefits from subtle revisions.

Interior:
A comfortable and inviting ergonomic cockpit; iDrive system has been simplified.

Safety:
Four-star Euro NCAP rating.

Equipment & Value for Money:
535d is in the upper echelon for its class, but it’s well worth it. The lesser models are arguably better value.
