The CS has ignited my interest in the F10, and it will be interesting to see how the concept will influence the 5er.
If the AMS renderings of the 3er bears some design elements of what the F10 might be, then I am really pleased, and will be awaiting its debut.
Just have to go for another 3er in between.

I hope BMW prices this car with more pre packaged content and fewer options. It's so incredibly easy to price a 3er sedan (talking 328 here) and approach 45k before tax and license, and don't get me started on the 335. Both the new C-class and A4 are both packaged well leaving the more questionable features as options. Most of everyone I know needs a car with folding seats these days, not something you should have to pay $475 for.

BMW needs to do better job with packaging of the options.

In my opinion the suggested future design of the 3-series is much more appealing than the current (both 2-door and 4-door) versions. It seems BMW is coming back to its roots, in that a particular styling cue was carried through across model lines. This was somewhat derisively referred to as a "cookie cutter" approach, but it has worked very well for Audi over the past few years. Of course this works best when starting from the top, so that the smaller models benefit from the so-called halo effect. Indeed, as far as styling in that segment is concerned, I find that both the Mercedes C class and Audi A4 line exhibit a smoother and more pleasant shape than BMW 3-series sedan. One shouldn't underestimate design, because that's what people exhibit and admire when the car is parked in the driveway and therefore ist the most important factor with many people not so obsessed about engine technology or sporty handling. Just imagine how much more successful BMW could be now if they hadn't gone off on the angular Bangle-style tangents. What appeals to me less in the preliminary photos is the fact that parts of the rear light cluster are integrated into the rear trunk lid (really not necessary and much more costly) and those sharp side edges, which are more difficult for the stamping presses and more difficult to repair after inconsiderate people bang on them when opening their own car door in a parking lot.
