Some time ago I saw a survey in which they had asked Americans what were the priorities when they choose the candidate they are going to vote for. I was surprised by how many people listed the wish that they want a president that they don't have to be ashamed of when they're abroad. As Obama has the "cleaniest" reputation he has the advantage in many voters' eyes in this regard.

Many people might also vote for Obama to show the rest of the world how unprejudiced and open-minded Americans are.
