Many have been murdered in history in the name of Christianity. I think of King Henry VIII, Bloody Mary, and Queen Elizabeth I, and the many thousands of Catholics they had killed for not converting to protestantism.

Artist, it is interesting that you have such a problem with Al Qaeda, as there were many in the Muslim world who celebrated when the twin towers collapsed on September 11, 2001. I remember seeing images of people rejoicing in the streets of Cairo and Islamabad -- these people were not extremists or terrorists ...but they still were extremely happy to see infidel America being punished -- something that Muslim leaders do not publicly acknowledge. Instead, we are told that Muslims were shocked and outraged by 911 -- I am not entirely convinced of that ...I think many Muslims were excited by it.

Since 911, "Osama" has become one of the most popular names for male babies born in the Arab world -- there is a lot more support for Al Qaeda among ordinary Muslims than the west is led to believe.

The great irony is Osama Bin Laden is really a product of the ultra-conservative teachings of Wahhabi Islam, which is the dominant religion of Saudi Arabia -- and as we know, Saudi Arabia is supposedly a good friend of the United States.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran talks about a "clash of civilizations" and believes Iran will lead the Muslim world in a holy war against the "infidel" West. In September 2005, Ahmadinejad, claimed he was surrounded by a divine light as he delivered his speech to the United Nations General Assembly -- he deeply believes he has been given a divine duty to fight the infidel west. It is obvious that Ahmadinejad sees himself as some kind of prophet ....or holy warrior chosen by Allah.
