I agree, dialogue is important ....but this was hardly dialogue. This "circus" was used as a prestigious international platform by Ahmadinejad to spread his message ....particularly to the Arab Muslim world.

This whole incident was not much more than a huge ego trip for Columbia University's president, Lee Bollinger -- he clearly was desperate to stage an event that would put him in the limelight for a brief time. I also think it is bad manners to insult and criticize a guest speaker before they have even spoken.
