They didn't really have a choice... the contract was valid and I think a clause in his contract stipulated that a buy-out would cost something like 20~25 mil...

Besides, this is technically somewhat a "new" team, so in terms of car development, a slower but experienced driver might be more beneficial than fast rookie. I guess time will tell.

PS he really looks like a douche in that picture… me no like him.
