Another all time great was the Matra V12 of the 1970s. Couldn't find it tough.

Ferrari finally switched to V10 in 1997, that being the year they becamed competitive.

1991 was also the year with the most V12-powered entries in Formula One history. In that year no less than seven teams used V12 engines: Brabham (Yamaha), Ferrari, Footwork/Arrows (Porsche witch only lasted half a season), Lamborghini, Ligier, McLaren (Honda) and Minardi (Ferrari).
Ironic since ...
1991 also was the turning point in the V10 vs. V12 battle [ Williams losing both titles only due to the problems of the early FW14 car (it wasn't the dominant B spec yet)].

But from that moment on the Renault V10 was the un-contested king/emperor/god of F1 engines.
