Those crashes are funny, though. Now how long will it be before the companies make some standardised recordings to they don't have to do it over again each time, and share the costs? Or is that as likely as Mercedes and BMW platform sharing?  |
It wouldn't be as expensive as you think really. I worked in an acoustic lab the size of a very very large living room and the cost of that lab would be "affordable" for a game such as PGR or Grand Turismo. So to rent it, it really shouldn't be that bad. Like Luw said, sound quality is the second most important thing in a race game and to get a car into a lab really should be done. And the only equipment is a dyno and air flow system to cool down the car, pretty much what they have in the pics.
