Capello/McNish shine in back-to-front race

ALMS: In the fifth round of the American Le Mans Series at Salt Lake City (US State of Utah), Dindo Capello and Allan McNish caused a sensation in an impressive back-to-front race. From the rear of the field they fought their way forwards to the top in their Audi R10 TDI. Despite having to make another refuelling stop shortly before race end, they clinched second place overall. In the LM P1 class, Audi celebrated another 1-2 victory.

Timo Scheider best Audi driver

DTM: 77,500 spectators (throughout the weekend) witnessed one of the most turbulent races in DTM history at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz that was completely distorted on account of unfortunate events surrounding a safety car deployment. In the interest of sport, Audi chose not to lodge a protest against the race being counted in the Championship. As the best Audi driver, Timo Scheider was classified in fifth place.

First podium for Audi in Sweden

STCC: With a third place, Thed Björk secured Audi’s first podium result in the 2007 season of the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Struck by bad luck was Frank Stippler, who had started the race from the pole position: A questionable drive-through penalty caused the German to drop to sixth place in the final classification.

Double victory for Audi Sport Italia

Superstars: In the third round of the Italian Superstars Touring Car Series at Magione, former Formula 1 driver Gianni Morbidelli in the Audi RS 4 celebrated a dominant start-finish victory. Audi Sport Italia’s triumph was completed by Giorgio Sanna claiming second place.
