In ubuntu 7.04 it's very easy to install the graphic card's driver: u just select an option from a menu. And it comes with some light form of beryl/xgl... It's just wonderful.

Try installing a new 3ware 9650SX RAID card with an old kernel. Now that'll drive you insane. I must admit, from a driver perspective, Windows outclasses Linux. Of course Windows isn't constantly updated etc etc, but from a usability perspective, Windows is easier when it comes to drivers etc.
