Now if they only returned to make it RWD like the original...

It's not the first time the Maxima gets the option of an oil burner lump under the bonnet. The second generation 810/Maxima built from 1981 to 1985 had the option of a 2.8 Straight Six Normally Aspirated diesel engine.
