Have you tried a Honda Accord Euro 2.4L, or a Subaru Liberty/Legecy 3.0L. IMO they offer better performance, better handling, resale value, cheaper maintenance/servicing cost, and ofcourse those cars have better reliability than the VW Jetta. The interior stylings might not suit your preference, and the general feel of a japanese car is very different to a Euro designed car.

I am not sure where do VW get the Jetta from your country, but the ones in Australia are from Brazil, according to one of the dealers i spoke to, so the quality of the car won't be as good as other VW from germany.
