I think the Jetta is a very good buy and the 2.0 Turbo version is a perfect buy if you want some speed. It does 0-100km/h in 7.5 which I would say is pretty adequate. But if I were you I would take a look at used car market. You should be able to find a one year old Audi A4 1.8T for the same price of a brand new Jetta 2.0 FSI, not to mention an Audi A3 sportback.
The advantage with buying a one year old car is that they are often in great condition and the 10-20% loss in value most cars suffer during the first year is already being taken care of by the seller. That means you get an almost brand new car for 10-20% less. More over an A3 and A4 has much better resale value than the Jetta.
