I read an item on Cnet today about how difficult it was to set up the Firewall in Vista...this was a pro and after about 12 steps he still could not figure out how to block an outgoing port. The default is "do not block outgoing ports!" Then today also I got a Scanner alert from HP indicating a host of steps to go through if Vista cannot find your scanner. Same old stuff...I fought it for over 10 years and never again...:-)
I beg to differ on the whole macs are better for graphics and photos. I've been doing 3d graphics for a long time now and I said that in another post but I've had the Dual processor 64bit mack daddy of macs g5 crash on me during rendering...and not only did the mofo crash it also corrupted my scene file that i spent hours and hours on...and when it finally did render it took it's sweet as time and was horrible. That g5 took about 18 hours to render my file after about 3-4 failed tries. Just to be sure that it doesn't crash on me again because my deadline was coming up I rendered the same file on my computer at home which was and still is a 3.2ghz pentium4, 1gb ddr2, nvidia 6600gt and 300gb hard drive. compared to the G5 my computer isn't the shit but it rendered the same file in 12hours in 1 try...since then I've lost faith in Macs and every time someone says that Macs are better for graphics and such I usually just say "ok...never knew that" and walk away. As for the GUI well that's a matter of taste and not really of functionality.

About the C-net guy, I don't want to take credit away from him but there are many "pros" out there right now who don't know sh!t about vista but are sitting there complaining about this and that without using the damn machine for more than 20 mins. Microsoft never said that vista is so easy a cave man can do it now did they? Like everything it takes time to learn the software fully. I'm not a microsoft or windows fanboy but it really annoys me when everyone tells me how great Macs are yet I've crashed the best of the best macs when my hand built machine has worked without a problem...and that wasn't directed at you by the way it was directed at people in general (the freakin mac geek in my class who shows me his macbook everyday and tries to compare it to my laptop...i'm going to smash his macbook one day if he doesn't stop or I will put my copy of counterstrike in ask him if his macbook can play that.)
