I personally think this is a good move.
There was always such a big "gap" between the E200 Kompressor and the E240 / E280. With the E230, this gap has been closed, so I feel.
The performance looks to be on par with the old E240 (2.6-l V6), except better. And we all know this engine is much peppier and alive than the V6 found in the C240, E240 and CLK240. It was really showing its age.
One more thing, the
E280 replaced the E240, so this
E230 is really a new model.
