![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Reithofer confirms 1er model range for U.S. The 1er being reffered to is the 2nd generation model . The current generation of the E87 will be available in the USA as a coupe and cabrio only . When the second generation comes I am sure it will be offered in more body styles. The current generation 1er sedan was axed because of it's close proximity to lower end 3er sedan. In which in most countries the lower engined 3er heavily treads into mass market family sedan segment. |

No. The 5er is BMWs biggest money maker and will never become a niche model. The 6er is there for that spot. No need for a CLS like 5er. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Reithofer confirms 1er model range for U.S. It makes a lot of sense to me already, in the current line-up. BMW is taking an awefully long time to broaden the 1er line. I'm sure there are tons of people just dying to get their hands on a 2 series with 3.2 I6 ///M engine, weighing around 1200/1300 kg and being very compact. ![]() |

![]() | Re: Reithofer confirms 1er model range for U.S. I rather have new 130i engine with M threatment (throttle bodies) and min 320hp and 8000 rpm That engine is much lighter than the E46 m3 engine. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Reithofer confirms 1er model range for U.S. Yeah, well, maybe an updated version of the old M3 engine then, made out of magnesium and stuff, like the newest 3.0 I6...that would be absolutely brilliant. |
