Just wondering what you guys think of these ads.. like, their creativity, their message and what it makes you think about the 1 series ? ![]() |

![]() ![]() | Re: 1 series print ad - What do you guys think? come on dudes its simplisstic the whole world is full of people who ultimately are all too similar, the infinte amount of houses, the names ina phoebook, the people on the beach, individuality is lost amongst the throngs of "objects" the One, is the quest of individuality and uniqueness, the motto fo the BMW 1 series, as the only hatch with RWD, with styling, flair, and a hot hatch to be reckoned |

![]() ![]() | Re: 1 series print ad - What do you guys think? Hmm I don't think those adds are too effective in conveying that message. Furthermore, if you're not even vaguely familiar with the BMW one series, you would have no idea what they're on about. Where the adds succeed is that they do create a bit of sustained interest/curiosity, even if its more along the lines of 'what the hell are they on about.' Perhaps a case of being to clever for their own good? ![]() |

Only when vabboud posted did it jog my mind about what the ad is trying to convey. And it isn't that kind of arty-farty abstract; it is the kind where you get put off after trying to figure out what it means for a long time. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 1 series print ad - What do you guys think? The 1er is the only one in it's class to be RWD. This ad makes perfect sense to me, and that includes all the other pecularities this car provides compared to it's rivals. Love the 1. ![]() |

That's exactly the message I got from these series of ads too. All those images convey a message of monotony and 'follow like a herd of sheep'...while the 1er is very different to the norm for its class. It's new, it's different, and these ads are trying to promote a change in the thinking of people, from mass standardization, to individuality. Also, by saying " It's not easy" ... they suggesting that it's easier to part of the crowd rather than have the guts to stand out and be different. Bangle's daring design style symbolises this message and the 1 series is a perfect example of how something can be new and different to the norm. ![]() | |
