No it isn't infact cars like the A3 and the Mini are despite their size premium.

I agree Luwalira, I wonder why Audi make the A3 though, when a VW Golf is just as good.

The Golf is just "good", since the A3 is selling very well it is obvious that the Golf isn't good enough for some people.

Like Scott said while ago, BMW had planned to produce following variants on E87 platform: 1er 5-door hatch, 1er 3-door hatch, 1er sedan, 1er Touring, 2er copue, 2er cabrio.

Now 1er 3-door, 1er sedan & 1er Touring have been axed, and BMW have an idea to introduce 1er/2er CST and small roadster Z2 instead (both based on E87 platform). But the final decision for production is still way off.

1er/2er CST will be a mix of copue, touring and 3-door hatch. It won't be 5-door, but 3-door vehicle. It won't be Audi A3 Sportback competitior.

It will be more of Audi Shooting-brake Concept competitior.
But while Audi SB is based on TT, BMW 1er/2er CST will be based on 1er/2er.

Will the CST - if it will be produced - be badged as 1er all 2er depands on marketing decisions (as 1er it will be priced cheaper and included also low-end engines, as 2er it will be priced higher featuring no low-end engines). Basicly: if BMW detect there is a market for CST in US, it will be branded 2er, otherwise it will wear 1er badge.

2er coupe and 2er cabrio will be produced as initially planned, and will be introduced in 2007 - also in US market.

i really like it, and Audi is getting much more popular here in the US especialy since the new line-up, its a good time for other brands to release competitive cars. I hope to see it soon at least within two years.
