The Baby M car when it arrives will use an engine developed from the WTCC car only with six cylinders and close to over 350 BHP. The four cylinder model badged Si will be available in the 3dr 1er giving BMW a rival to the Golf GTi.

That sounds...SO enticing.

350HP inline-6 + small, sleek coupe shape + RWD + 6-speed manual - iDrive - weight = Masterpiece.

BMW, it's all up to you now. They have all the opportunity in the world to make this car to potentially be one of the best cars ever. Let's hope they can do it right.

Oh yeah.
Any rumors/news on how heavy will the 2er be.
Using the Lotus Elise as the standard/benchmark is great.
Finally.

I guess he wants to tell that 120si will use updated / uptuned I4 engine from 320si, while M2 will use the I6 engine derived from the I4 engine BMW use in 320si WTCC racing version.

This is on contrary what he (scott26) said earlier: no N54 engine in 2er (due to heavy weight: 187kg) neither I6 in M2 for the same reason - therefore NG4T in M2.

So, what's correct now? Scotty is blowing it this time!

A 350 hp little coupe? That will blow everything that ///M has right now. As much as I love the idea, this might be a bit too good to be true. But I guess we can always hope that the car makes it to the final stages.

And remember with the current mainstream models being fettled nothing has been decided as yet in relation to the Mcar. But as always at BMW the creative fountain is flowing.
