![]() | Re: 1er / 2er future models: Scott26 reports; part 2 Turbo is nice but keep that in normal bmw cars. Let M stick on NA engines. If you buy M you buy something special. And something special is not brutal turbo power. |

I hope they make an M2, but an 235 turbo is also a must to continue were the 2002 Turbo left off. | |

![]() | Re: 1er / 2er future models: Scott26 reports; part 2 if i was working at bmw i would do the 1 serie and 2 serie s sporty line up like this. 1 series 130i 272hp di engine. with lsd option. 120i 4cil turbo 285 hp. with lsd option. 2 series coupe 230i 6cil di engine 272hp with lsd option 220i 4cil turbo 285 hp with lsd option M2 or old e46 m3 engine. or new 3.0 di engine build up to M specs. with 320hp more then 8000 revs on tap. For me the 120i turbo would not be necesary i rather have NA engines. If i want a turbo i go shop at the jap tin boxes sti or evo s. I would buy an N/A M2 without hasitation. I have a m3 e46 right now very nice car very very nice engine. But the downside of the car is the sportiness. The 3 series has grown to much and that means to much weight to carry around. I find the new coupe 3 E90series no car anymore for a sporting agile m version anymore. The new m3 will be more a car on the side to m5 and m6. I really looking forward to a car more on the side at e30 m3 but the e30 m3 with 200 hp is after driving e46 m3 boring related to power. So with the new m2 they need to go near the power to weight ratio of the outgoing e46 m3. So 320hp would be enough if they could reduce the weight also. I know a 4cil turbo would be better for handling wise. Just drive a 130i and a 120d back to back then you know what i mean. But i would a sacrifice a little more weight on the front axle and get a high rev 6cil in it. The best bet would be a 2.5 high rev 4 cil atmo with 300 hp but that would possibly be impossible to make in mass production. I really see potential in an N/A M2 because the new M3 has gone upmarket and will be more expensive than the E46 M3. So there is gap in M version land and it need to be filled in. Andre dreaming of M2. |
