Would you buy the current 1er here in the U.S.?

In my question I'm refering the idea of the euro market 1er becoming availble here in the states.

Personally I'd buy one in a heartbeat.. possibly over the E90, or in addt. if I had more than one car, most definately.

No not really. I was a fan on the 3 series compact for a while back when it was here along with the E46 one that they didn't bring here. The M coupe was also one of my favorite cars at one point as it was almost like a combination between a VW Golf and a real sports car.

I would choose E90 over 1-serie. If I could afford two I would buy 1-serie for a second car.

Re: Would you buy the current 1er here in the U.S.?

I definitely would buy one...I'm looking for a second car that is somewhat practical-
good for everyday driving but still fun to drive.
Right now the Audi A3 is really getting my attention- if the 1 series comes to market in the U.S. in the next 18-24 months I'd get one instead.
I think this segment...small practical crossover vehicles.. is going to heat up in the coming years.
Hopefully BMW will offer a 4WD system in it.

Re: Would you buy the current 1er here in the U.S.?

I don't know if it's different in the States, but in South Africa, the 1-series is not that much cheaper than a 3series. First of all, if I ever got a 1 Series (well the more bottom end), I would only consider the 120d. And that was a few grand less than a 320d. So to be honest, I'd rather not go out and save money and get the 320d... more space, better looking.

However, the 130i would be a nice car to have.

It appears as if the 1 series might be a tad redundant in terms of pricing, especially w/ the 3er being availble. Pricing is and will be the major obstacle for this car when in reaches the states in whatever configuration the board members decide on at BMW AG.

I would consider one...More unique than the forthcoming R32, and RWD to boot. Price and quality will need to be seen though...

Same... RWD is very attractive in that segment, but pricing would be a big factor.

From the other thread I created, the R32 and 130i costs exactly the same as each other pretty much. Still, I think I'd rather go for the 3er
