Yea I noticed that too. That would mean a 130i in the US would come in around 32K......I would buy one immediatetly if they were at that price.....

That would be a tough decision for me. I can either get a 130i or a totally stock 325i with enough money to upgraded rims. I think I'm leaning towards the 3er but the 130i would be one hell of a hot hatch.

Re: Would you buy the current 1er here in the U.S.?

Seeing as, in here in the UK at least, the 1er isn't that much cheaper than the 3er at the top end, so I'd pay the extra money to get the bigger more refined 3er. Also, I've been round the BMW dealer a few times lately and wasn't very impressed by the 1ers quality and it certainly didn't match up to the 3er, and the 5er looked much nicer! So on terms of quality, how practical they are and refinment, I'd go for the 3er everytime over the 1er!

The threes are quite popular around here...not so unique anymore. That is why I like the 1. Its smaller, lighter, has more power in 130i form than the 330i, PLUS, since I live in the US, I have never seen a 130i, so it adds to the exotic factor. We will see what it is priced...if it ever gets here .

If that is the case, that these two cars are priced exactly the same... that's a tough decision.

The 3.5l turbo will not find a home in the 1er lineup.

Re: Would you buy the current 1er here in the U.S.?

This was not that tough. I wouldn't consider buying the 1er one bit, simply because it is going to be expensive and there are other cars that are probably as good yet cheaper. Not to mention I'm still not sold on the looks of that car. Sometimes it looks good othertimes it looks fugly. I can't imagine waking up and walking to my garage and saying "***, why did I buy this...it's so ugle" and the next day "This car is good looking" that doesn't work with me. I would have to 90%+ like the looks before considering buying one. Yes it might be fun, but I'm not rich enough to buy cars just because they're fun.

We do not not even know what the variant that the states will recieve looks like, so I am not worried. From the proportions of the cabrio caught testing it looks to at least be much smaller than the new e92 coupe, which is a good thing IMO .
