Who buys a car based on HQ or crappy pics anyways?

I thought those photos were more than adequate actually. Fancy promotional pics aren't going to change my idea of how it looks.

Paris Hilton's little doggie, I guess. I've heard the doggie chosen a MINI cabrio. Red one. The choice was confirmed by doggie's barking after seeing MINI cabrio ad in Vouge magazine.

On this car though, wouldn't it be great if they had integrated dual exhausts w/ 1 on each side of that cutout on the lower part of the bumper? The LED taillights on this car will look sick at night. The new 5's here that have them are absolutely amazing at dusk.

I think the creases and the little bootlid spoiler are more visible in the old spyshot with "big earl" , although it's crappy a well.

Sorry mate, but I really disagree with you on that one. VW and Audis are as dull as they can get...at least BMW tries to design something that will stir controversy...because at the end of the day the most interesting design is the one that everybody loves to disagree. I mean look at us...we've been discussing about it for over 10 pages. I think that makes the design itself quite interesting.

I am getting carried away...what I want to basically say is that Audis and VWs have a very common box-like design. Only the TT and the A5 have something to show...but the A3, A8, A6 and A4 are dull (on second thought, A6 is OK also). VWs now are just dull. Take the Golf for example...same design and same box-shape as it was 30 years ago.

BMWs and Alfa Romeos are the only ones who are actually trying to design something interesting...it looks like that someone actually bothered to design it. That, for me, is very important.

The Pontiac Aztec was also an "interesting" design. Certainly interesting, but altogether horrid. I don't care for Alfa designs that much either, but completely agree with you on the boldness of the designs by them and BMW. I have no problems with the 1, I like the design, reminds me of my old E46 coupe, there just a few things I would have done differently. If these brands were in a boldness fashion contest, yes Audi would lose hands down to BMW and Alfa.

What I meant by my VW/Audi comment is that their cars are very clean, they may not incite the wildest of emotions in either direction (positive or negative), but I think most will say they are generally pleasing to the eye. My buddy back home his dad has an S8, that is a supremely sophisticated looking automobile even though it is a bit dated. Turns heads EVERYWHERE we go and this was in Miami FL where nice cars abound. Another good choice for that type of thing is the Merc CLS as long as it has a sport package.

As long as a car is not ugly and the performance and refinement are up to the standards I look for I will consider that car. I don't necessarily buy cars to make a visual statement. I guess I'm actually an understated kind of guy myself. That's why I've always loved bmw's, they make cars for people who love the experience of driving and the engineering that goes into making a car that has soul. That's what sells cars to an enthusiast, well that's what sells to me anyway. In the small car near luxury segments, BMW has the best offerings IMO.

I love the discussion though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There could be 10,000 responses by tonight saying this is the ugliest car ever, I'm still heading to the dealer this weekend to find out about putting down a deposit. God let me find some1 that speaks English!

Well that was a long winded resposne. mate
